This Month, Last Month, This Year, or any custom range. Every KPI shows current period vs previous period with a green/red percentage change. Spot growth trends and warning signs at a glance.

Lead-by-lead detail with full context

Every lead has name, phone, type (call vs form), full message, and timestamp. Expand any lead row to see the complete submission. Filter, sort, and export for follow-up workflows.

How it works

Step 1

Pick your time period

Click This Month, Last Month, This Year, or Custom (with date pickers). All charts and KPIs update immediately. Compare any two periods to spot growth or decline.

Step 2

Review your KPIs and health banner

Top of the page shows a health banner (Healthy / Needs Attention / Critical) based on your numbers vs benchmarks. Below that, 3 KPI cards show Phone Calls, Contact Forms, and Total Inquiries with percent change vs previous period.

Step 3

Analyze the monthly trend chart

Below KPIs, a bar chart shows your last 6 or 12 months of calls and forms side by side. Identify seasonal patterns (e.g. plumber calls spike in winter, landscaper calls spike in spring). Use this for hiring and capacity planning.

Step 4

Drill into individual leads

Scroll to the All Leads table at the bottom. Expand any row to see the full message. Click 'Download Report →' to generate a PDF of leads for any period. Most customers review this weekly during slow periods.

Why you need to know your numbers, not just feel them

Most local business owners run on intuition. 'It feels like a slow month' or 'we got a lot of calls this week.' Without data, you can't make decisions about where to spend money, which services to push, or when to hire. The Leads & Analytics tab replaces intuition with measurable facts: this month vs last month, this year vs last year, your best month ever vs your current pace.

Beyond decision-making, lead data helps you identify and fix conversion problems. If your traffic is steady but call clicks dropped, something on your site changed (maybe a hero image isn't loading, maybe a CTA button is hidden, maybe a service page broke). Period-over-period comparisons surface these issues within days rather than after you've already lost a month of leads.

And lead data is critical for ROI math. A plumber spending $500/month on marketing wants to know if that's working. The Leads & Analytics tab shows: 'Last month you generated 47 phone calls and 19 form submissions for $99 plus your marketing spend.' Multiply by your close rate and average ticket. Now you know whether marketing is profitable. Without data, you're guessing. With it, you're managing.

Common questions before you sign up

What if I get most of my leads via phone, not the website?

Grow Local tracks every click on your phone number across the entire site - including header, footer, hero CTA, service pages, and location pages. This is your phone-leads-from-website count. If most of your phone calls come from Google Business Profile (not your website), that's still useful: you can tell if your website's job is supporting your GBP or generating its own leads.

Does this replace my call tracking software (CallRail, etc.)?

Not entirely - dedicated call tracking shows you call recordings and converts callers to sources (e.g. 'this caller came from Google Ads'). Grow Local tracks click-to-call events, which is enough for 80% of local businesses. If you need full call recordings and conversion attribution, run CallRail alongside Grow Local. Both work together.

Can I export lead data to my own systems?

Yes - the Reports tab generates PDF reports for any period. CSV export is on our roadmap for Q2 2026. For real-time integration with your CRM, we have a webhook-based integration planned for our managed agency tier in late 2026.

FAQs

How are leads counted?
Three types: (1) Contact form submissions - someone fills out and submits any form on your site. (2) Phone call clicks - someone taps your click-to-call button. (3) Total Inquiries - sum of (1) + (2). Each type is tracked separately so you can see which channel drives more leads. Note: phone clicks indicate someone attempted to call, not necessarily that the call connected.
What does 'Healthy' vs 'Needs Attention' actually mean?
Healthy: your lead generation is consistent or growing. Needs Attention: you've seen a meaningful drop vs previous period that warrants investigation. Critical: significant drop that requires immediate action. The thresholds adjust based on your industry and historical baseline - they're not arbitrary.
Can I see which service pages drive the most leads?
Per-page lead attribution is on our roadmap for Q3 2026. Today, you can see total lead counts and trend over time. For per-page attribution today, install Google Analytics 4 alongside Grow Local and set up event tracking on form submissions and click-to-call events. We provide setup instructions in our docs.
How is this different from Google Analytics?
GA shows traffic (visits, page views, time on page). Grow Local Leads & Analytics shows conversions (calls, forms, total leads). They're complementary - run both for the complete picture. Most local businesses spend 10x more time in Leads & Analytics because conversions matter more than traffic for revenue decisions.
What's the All-Time Totals card for?
Shows lifetime calls, forms, and total leads since you signed up with Grow Local. Useful for: bragging on social media ('we've generated 1,247 leads since launching our new site'), demonstrating ROI to business partners, or just satisfying curiosity. Updates in real time.
How do I read the Best Month card?
Highlights your highest-performing month ever (by total leads) with a trophy icon. Use this for benchmarking - if you're currently 50% below your best month, something needs attention. If you're approaching it again, you might be entering a new growth phase. It's a useful psychological anchor too.
Can I share the dashboard with my marketing team or business partner?
Currently single-user access on the basic plan. To share data, generate a PDF report via the Reports tab and email it. Multi-user access with role-based permissions (view-only vs. edit) is on our roadmap for Q2 2026. Managed agency clients already have multi-user access.
Does Leads & Analytics work for service-area businesses without a fixed location?
Yes. Whether you're a brick-and-mortar dentist or a mobile plumber serving 20 cities, lead tracking works the same way. Calls and forms are tracked regardless of your business model. Per-city breakdowns are most useful for service-area businesses - you see which cities you serve generate the most demand.
